Jane has worked with us over the years, critiquing documentary edits. Jane also commissioned Barbara Santi to edit her film, The Renovation of Porthmeor Studios, St. Ives.
In 1965 Jane started in the film industry in London as a freelance assistant film editor. 1971 Jane joined the BBC in 1978 she was appointed as Film Editor and in 1983 promoted to Chief Film Editor (1983 – 1992), one of two women ever to achieve this position joining seventeen senior editors who were responsible for up to ten editors.
Jane edited documentaries for most of her career which has spanned 30 years, the highlight of which was to be appointed series editor for 40 Minutes, award winning documentary series which ran in the 1980s. In 1992 Jane joined the BBC Equalities department.
Jane coordinated a conference for the European Union on Equality in Broadcasting.
On her return to Cornwall in 1997, Jane was appointed by James St. Aubyn to coordinate the programme of the Celtic Film Festival at St Ives. In 2004 Jane was invited by Sir Nicholas Serota to the board of the Borlase Smart John Wellls Trust of which she is Vice Chair.
