Launch: The Sanctuary
A date for your diaries!
Friday 8th December 6pm - 10pm
Solomon Browne Hall, Mousehole
We're launching our new and very special project about the incredible Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital, which is nearly 100 years old!
We're celebrating the remarkable sisters Dorothy and Pog Yglesias, who dedicated their lives to saving wild birds.
Our new project will rediscover their story while exploring contemporary narratives about wildlife, ornithology, community and conservation.
The sisters' ethos of empathy and compassion has never been more relevant.
We'll have presentations, refreshments, a beautiful short film (Skyward) by Jessica Bishopp with virtual Q&A and 1920s/30s/40s music with Jollity Farm.
Line up includes:
Presentation Barbara Santi, Director awen productions introducing the Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital Heritage project
Short film ‘Skyward’ (film supported by BFI Doc Society in collaboration with The Guardian Documentaries) with Jessica Bishopp virtual Q&A.
Presentation Sally Crabtree on 'Birds on the Branchline' project
Jollity Farm band (1920s/30/40s music)
Refreshments available
Join us for reflections, conversations, celebration and dancing!
